One cool thing, if you import the album onto an ipad/iphone/ipod, the notes show up on the screen automatically for each track.Īs an example of what the patch notes are like, here's the notes from the last piece, 'High Steps':Īn interesting melodic patch, using the Echophon as a swinging delay and resonant device. To access these in iTunes, right click on the track, select Get Info, then go to the Lyrics tab and voila, they'll be there.

Minimum donation is AU$3, feel free to pay what you like after that. I tried to paint as broad a stroke as possible, from drone to simple melodies, so anyone who hasn't heard much from it can get an idea of what it can sound like. Many of the pieces only involve a few voices, and the Echophon is left to do the rest. I've attempted to make something that is simple and not too confronting patch wise and sound wise. I attempted to be as thorough as possible, so you can try them out (and of course build on them!) " I hope that others take these ideas and possibilities and build on themĭetailed patch notes, comments, and individual module settings are embedded in each track as lyrics. That being said, this is just the BEGINNING of what is possible with the Echophon.

In each patch the Echophon is the last module in the chain, so you can hear what's being processed clearly and easily. Each piece is aimed at giving the listener an IDEA of what is possible, without there being too much going on. At most i think the largest amount of modules in one patch was 8. It certainly isn't a vehicle for showcasing my patching abilities! As much as possible, each patch is a relatively simple and straight forward affair, with little clutter. "The patches in this sketchbook were recorded to showcase the multitude of possibilities one is presented with while working with the Echophon. So I decided to put together a sketchbook for the Make Noise Echophon, which i received a few weeks ago.
